Fleming's Fundamentals of Law was my prep program for the California First Year Law Student's Exam (FYLSX aka Baby Bar) and the California General Bar Exam. The program has comprehensive lectures, outlines, and attack sheets for answering any essay exam. The courses have writing assignments with feedback and cover the most challenging essays tested. I passed both the Baby Bar and, four years later, the General Bar my first time. Even during law school, I used all of Fleming's Exam Solutions all four years. Fleming's products gave me a structured approach to each subject and a study method that I used through law school. Fleming's lectures are engaging, humorous, and has guest lecturers who are the premier in their field. FFOL gave me everything I needed to be successful. Hazel, FFOL's GM, is positive, encouraging, and was so giving of her time to listen to my needs and to help me make a decision that was going to be the best plan for me. FFOL and Hazel want their students to pass - and I did!

I took FFOL baby bar review and passed the fylsx (the baby bar) on my first attempt before taking and passing the general bar exam four years later after taking the FFOL general bar review course. I also passed the general bar exam on my first attempt. The FFOL course was well worth the money, because utilizing Mr. Fleming's approach, you are almost guaranteed to pass the California bar exam on your first attempt! Please note that the February 2017 bar exam, which I passed, had the lowest bar passing rate in the history of the bar exam (a 35% passing rate). I personally feel that Mr. Flemings is the best bar coach in California. (emphasis added)!

Hazel is amazing at Fleming's fundamental of law. She is extremely friendly and helpful and made my day! Highly recommend going into the office to chat with her in person if you are in the area.

I am so pleased that I chose Flemings to prepare for the Baby Bar (and now all my other classes). Without having a law background, I felt pretty intimidated in a class with plenty of legal assistants and paralegals by my sides. About 6 months before taking the Baby Bar, I compared all the programs by price, reviews, and materials. Flemings made the most sense for how much I got for my dollars. It wasn’t until I actually completed the Baby Bar Review Course and the Writing Workshop that I realized how much more material existed outside of my classes and additional outlines I had purchased in the past. I used the Flemings criminal law review to prepare for the Baby Bar, but timed it for right before my course final. Finishing first in my class that term, and passing the Baby Bar six weeks later made me a believer. As for the Writing Workshop, I took it three weeks before the Baby Bar and it totally changed how I structured and wrote my essays. I guess the Flemings way was the right way because one of my essays scored an 80 (this is an excellent score if you’re not familiar) and was chosen by the State Bar to publish as an example on their website. Passing the Baby Bar on my first attempt was really important to me, and I am certain that my Flemings prep was the secret to my success. My only regret is that I wish I started using Flemings study aids on my very first term of law school. If you want an easy to follow, easy to understand prep course that works, look no further. I used Fleming's Fundamentals for the CA Baby Bar, law school exams, and the CA Bar Exam. The outlines, lectures and techniques helped me through my entire law study journey. I passed the CA Bar Exam on my first attempt using Flemming's methods. Highly recommended!

I found the study materials to be extremely beneficial in aiding my preparation for classes, midterms, and finals. Although I did not use all of their bar prep materials, the Evidence, Community Property, and Wills and Trust materials I purchased from them provided me with a solid foundation. I honestly believe these resources helped me graduate at the top of my class (ranked #1) and I successfully passed the bar exam on my first try.

I have purchased and attended both the Baby Bar and General Bar Tutorial Series at Fleming's. With the aid of the materials and lecture videos, I passed both at one-shots of Baby Bar an General Bar Exams. There is no doubt, that Fleming's Bar Review materials are solid and up to date with the most recent changes of the Cali bar exams. A hardcore bar candidate with sufficient amount of work done and shown to the essay graders will lead to an immediate success, which will become the introduction of the professional world of law in the shortest amount of time. Go full measure with Fleming's, there will be no regrets.

I took Fleming's Baby Bar prep course and I'd recommend it to anyone who's taking the FYLSX and is serious about putting the work in to pass. You, of course, will only get out of it what you put in and it's not a magic silver bullet, but there's much to be gleaned from the lectures, materials, and offered critiques (the critiques btw are great. I took advantage of them and felt I learned from them). I passed on my first try, which is of course a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy, but I truly believe the course was helpful, though I have no clue if it was the difference between passing and failing. I also don't know that it's better than any other bar prep course, because it's the only one I've taken, but Fleming is the only bar prep course that offers something for the FYLSX and I intend to take a Fleming course again when I take the bar. EDIT 11/13/2021 Update: As stated in the original review above, I did in fact use Fleming's course to prepare for the bar. I again passed on my first try.
